Human Made Principal Web Engineer
2020 – 2022 Architected, built, and delivered complex projects for large media clients, and led teams of engineers through the full lifecycle of that work.
- PlayStation.Blog Coordinated and led the migration to a new React-based block editor across a global team of stakeholders and engineers, in close collaboration with a publishing team accustomed to writing their own markup.
- Snopes.com Headed an effort to modernize the codebase by enforcing linting rules and fixing the many hundreds of issues that were subsequently raised.
Human Made Senior Web Engineer
2017 – 2020 Participated in sales engineering, translating user needs into clear deliverables and project plans. Helped the sales team close four major deals generating almost $1M in revenue.
- Siemens Milestones Led development on a server-side-rendered React front end and WordPress back end that gave Siemens employees a centralized place to discover the communications team's internal projects and how they applied to their day-to-day work.
- Al Jazeera Arabic Worked alongside the client's internal team and an outside vendor to deliver a newsroom MVP powered by a React and Express front end, a GraphQL API, and a WordPress back end.
- Artefact Group Responsible for the architecture and lead development of the new Artefact corporate website and blog, including adoption of the React-based editor that was in beta at the time.
Function Labs Lead Web Engineer
2017 – 2020 Led development and coordinated strategic partnerships with design agencies to deliver a range of projects. Automated the entire server stack setup with Ansible and was solely responsible for the uptime of hosting services.
- Disney Parks Blog Directed the architecture and engineering effort for the reimagining of the official blog from the Disney corporation.
- Buffalo Recycles Partnered with the city of Buffalo, NY on a goal to increase recycling by 34% within a year, which the Buffalo Recycles website helped make a reality.
- Visit Niagara Falls USA Built a marketing plan and website for a new travel agency in northern New York, integrating heavily with their in-house POS, scheduling, and booking systems.
- The Jacobs Institute Partnered with the non-profit and a New York design studio to build a more modern experience for site visitors while still showcasing their content.
